Hello Guys I'M going to explain the all Tavor Family Rifles used by Indian Armed Forces.


1. TAR 21 (Standard Variant 457 mm

(18 in) barrel)


Tavor TAR-21 is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm caliber. Tar-21 is the standard Assault Rifle Variant of the Tavor Family of Rifles. Tavor Tar 21 is the common arm issued to the majority of special force troops of India.TAR-21 uses standard boxed magazine stores with a capacity of 20 or 30 rounds. This assault rifle can accept diverse range of sights and accessories. para Sf uses mainly Mars Red dot sight on Tar-21 while Garud and Marcos uses Mepro mor multi purpose reflex sight.

2. GTar-21


GTar-21 is the Grenadier Variant of Tar-21.

The GTAR-21 has a notched barrel to accept an under barrel grenade launcher (ubgl).it has a Magazine capacity of 30 rounds. Indian special forces mainly uses Turkish T40 40mm ubgl,Arcus 40mm Ubgl and m203 ubgl on GTar-21.

3. CTar-21


CTAR-21 compact assault rifle version of Tar-21, fitted with a shorter barrel (15in) for Carbine purposes.It use the same Caliber (5.56X45mm). It's only used by  Garuds of Iaf.

4. STar-21


STar-21  is a Marksman version of Tar-21, fitted with a folding bipod and optics.

Para Sf of Indian Army uses Mars Red dot sight on Star-21,Marcos uses Mepro mor and garud of Iaf uses Nimrod 6x40 Scope however troops can adjust or change optics according to there needs/mission.

5. Tavor X95 (5.56mm)


X95 Also called Micro Tavor. X-95 has a different body and the shortest barrel among all other Tavor versions. locally produced aVariant of x95 is called ZITTARA.

Security forces mostly uses Mepro MOR sight on X95. 3 variants of IWI X95 are used by Indian Forces i.e.


1) X95 with conventional trigger guard and higher rail mount.


2) X95 with TAR trigger guard & regular rail mounts.


3) X95 FLATTOP with full length rails.
