How pilots dodg Air To Air Missiles ?

 

Today I will brief you all the COUNTERMEASURES used to defeat these missiles 

If you have not gone through the different types of Air to Air missiles I would suggest you to go through the tagged message in order to continue this topic 

There are 2 types of countermeasures

1)FLARES

2)CHAFF

FLARES

A flare is a medium of generating heat or light without causing any explosion

It is integrated in different Aircrafts 

In Aircrafts they are used as burning pieces of Magnesium which produces a strong heat signature 

Since Flares have a heat signature they are used against IR SEEKER MISSILE

CHAFF 

Chaff is simply a bundle of Aluminum foil which are capable of generating a fake Radar signature

Since Chaff has a tendency to show a fake Radar signature therefore it is used against

SEMI ACTIVEACTIVE RADAR GUIDANCE MISSILES

Note

COUNTERMEASURES do not assure you that the hostile missile would be defeated

To deploy countermeasures skills are required from the pilot as well as from the aircraft in order to increase the effectiveness of the countermeasures making them work
